Licensing
Getting your real estate license involves the
following 3 simple steps.
- Pre-licensing Education
The Illinois state regulator
(the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation) requires 45 hours in
Real Estate
Practices before you can take your licensing exam. The hours must include
specific curriculum topics and are offered through our approved distance
education school. View

- Prelicensing Education Final Exam
Illinois requires a
proctored final exam following the Pre-licensing education which must be passed with a
75%
to become eligible for the state licensing examination. The final exam will be mailed to
you in a sealed envelope and can only be opened in the presence of a proctor. The
proctor can be any unbiased 3rd party (e.g. a librarian, school official) that can
monitor the test session.
- Licensing Examination
After passing your Pre-licensing course
final exam, you are eligible to take the state licensing examination. This
examination is administered by AMP, a 3rd party testing administrator.
Kaplan Real Estate Schools works with the testing administrators to make sure
your registration process is simple and hassle-free. After you complete your
course, you will receive a certificate of completion certifying that you completed your
course
successfully with Kaplan Real Estate Schools. If you have additional questions
